Walking Down to the Hossack Downs Road

 

Kate and Cathy have researched a new route to Hanmer Springs, which is longer than the previous one, higher and more impressive. We ride through seven working high country properties along this trip and I would like to acknowledge the generosity of the land owners who allow us to ride for miles through their farms.

This trail is used for both the Luxury Horse Treks and the Rustic Adventure. The Luxury option we do with Pip and Craig at Sherwood Lodge who pamper you with hot spas and 4 course dinners at night. On the Rustic Adventure Ride we stay in huts, cook our own food, which is provided, and sleep in sleeping bags.

The trail begins from Mt Lyford with the first day of the Sherwood Huts Overnight trip, and then keeps going on to Hanmer Springs.!

Information

We supply accommodation, all food, transfer of gear and return to Mt Lyford,

Horse riding gear supplied - helmets, chaps, long riding coats, gloves, saddle bags, hot drinks and lunches.

Bring warm riding gear, sleeping bag, pillow slip and overnight things, camera and suntan lotion

Fee $1295.00pp (plus upgrades, see below)

Minimum two riders. Riders must be over ten years and riding fit.

We recommend you have a warm up afterrnoon at Mt Lyford with a partnering up session and an afternoon ride with your horse to prepare you thoroughly. Fee for this is included above.

You may bring your own food and arrange your own transfers for $900.00pp

Deposit (non refundable) of $300.00 is required
